Weston Wise

Weston Wise took part in the iJay Practicum program during Spring 2026 (Cohort 25) - as a member of the Events and Outreach Team. Weston is currently a rising junoir, majoring accounting and minoring in political science on the pre-law track. Weston will be starting a new internship with the Iowa Insurance Department as a Summer Intern. During his time in the iJay Practicum, he developed and oversaw the operations of all athletics initiatives, which totaled over 200 total engagements, resulting in quantifiable store feedback and foot traffic. Weston assited in the roll out and deliberations of new cohort recruitment, served as the primary point of contact with FSL and Feed My Starving Children philanthropy events, cultivating a positive image for the iJay while also incentivizing attendance and donations to good causes.

Weston's time in the iJay will greatly reduce the learning curve heading into a professional work environment in Insurance Regulation as he looks forward to interning at the state of Iowa's Insurance department this summer.

Due to his work in the iJay, Weston now understands how high overhead and large network teams operate and collaboarate, which will give him a head start over his peers. Working with a wide variety of cross campus connections like Atheltics, FSL, and general outreach enabled Weston to develop persistence and dilligence. Weston loved the vision of the iJay as a campus hub that is ubiquitous up and down the mall, engaging all sorts of student organizations, while also being a social center in the middle of Harper.
