Ella Hosmer, Practicum Cohorts 24-25 (Fall 2025 - Spring 2025), Creighton Class of 2027. She is currently majoring in accounting and is a former iJay Tech Repair team member who repaired 10+ macbook displays, became a Certified Mac Technician, and updated the standard operating procedure. She organized repair data in a way that was understandable for Apple representatives to gain an understanding of the importance of the repair program.

Next summer, she will be beginning her internship with Ernst & Young (EY) as a Technology Risk Assurance Intern. Her exceptional performance in her accounting classes qualified Ella for entrance into Beta Alpha Psi and used her experience in tax accounting to volunteer with VITA to complete tax returns for clients. She was one of the only international preparers, making her able to complete returns for clients originally from Pakistan and India by researching treaties between those countries and the United States.

"I gained the ability to repair macbooks after completing my AASP onboarding training for technicians, valuable experience with organizing and combining large amounts of repair data, and cross team collaboration skills!"

Ella's time as a repair tech in the practicum helped her obtain a technology risk internship at EY. Her explanation of her time in the practicum sold Ella's interviewers on hiring her as an intern since she has experience in problem solving and creatively approaching challenges. Her time in the practicum has made her a better accountant due to the attention to detail needed while both repairing a computer and filling out financial statements or tax returns.
