Haroly Frias completed the iJay Practicum program across two semesters - Spring 2025 (Cohort 23) and Fall 2025 (Cohort 24) - as a member of the Events and Outreach Team, and will graduate from Creighton University in 2026. Her outreach and planning work at iJay established the foundation for her current pursuit of financial paraplanning. Currently, Haroly is majoring in financial planning and international business, and after graduation, she is looking forward to moving to the Dominican Republic. The interpersonal skills she developed during her Practicum experience have prepared her for her full time position, working in finance.

After graduation, Haroly will be working full-time in financial services at Panorama Jets. Working on partnerships with local restaurants and brands gave Haroly hands-on experience in professional outreach, managing relationships, and coordinating details—skills that translate directly to working with clients, advisors, and external partners in financial planning. Her experience in the iJay helped Haroly become more confident in presenting information clearly and professionally, which is important when preparing materials or communicating financial concepts. Overall, the iJay provided a practical foundation that has made Haroly more prepared, detail-oriented, and effective in her role as a paraplanner.

"The iJay helped me develop and grow by giving me hands-on experience in building partnerships, planning events, and engaging with both the campus and local community. Through working with local restaurants and brands like Poppi, I became more confident in professional communication, outreach, and relationship-building. I learned how to represent an organization, pitch ideas, and create mutually beneficial partnerships. Being involved in event planning also strengthened my organizational and problem-solving skills. I learned how to manage logistics, adapt quickly when challenges came up, and work collaboratively with a team to ensure successful outcomes. Overall, the iJay helped me grow in confidence, professionalism, and leadership. It pushed me to take initiative, communicate effectively, and think strategically, skills that will be valuable in my future career."

Haroly's experience with the iJay has helped her in her development as a paraplanner by strengthening her communication, organization, and relationship-building skills. Additionally, planning and executing events at the iJay required strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple moving parts at once. These are essential skills in paraplanning, where accuracy, organization, and the ability to support complex processes are critical.
